Ongoing modelling and control work
This research develops the foundations for modelling and controlling a Voliro-like variable-tilt aerial robot model. We did not design or build a physical robot; the work is based on a mathematical and simulation model used to study the vehicle’s dynamics, actuation, and control authority.
The work is being carried out by Farooq Olanrewaju, Ziad Shoeib, Ahmed AbdurRazaq, MD Tarique Hamid, and Benyahia Ayman, under the advisement of Dr. Ramy Rashad and Dr. Sami El-Ferik.
Research focus
- Geometric modelling of a variable-tilt aerial robot on SE(3).
- Analysis of how tiltable rotors affect force and moment generation.
- Estimation and control strategies for the modelled vehicle.
- Control allocation for distributing desired wrenches across the actuators.
- Simulation-based evaluation of tracking and maneuverability.
Scope
The contribution is currently centred on mathematical modelling, simulation, and controller development. Claims about a manufactured prototype, physical flight testing, or completed hardware design do not describe this research and have been removed from the theme overview.
